The significance of fungal red listing in Europe, and how it stimulates curiosity about fungal ecology

Anders Dahlberg is professor in mycology at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Uppsala, Sweden. His research and teaching are focused on fungal ecology and conservation in forest ecosystems. Together with Greg Mueller, he wrote the guidelines used for fungal red listing (10.1016/j.funeco.2010.11.001) with whom he also coordinates the Global Fungal Red List Initiative (https://redlist.info/). Anders is also a member and the Red List Authority of IUCN SSC Mushroom, Bracket and Puffball specialist group.
