Ectomycorrhizal fungal community structure – a walk through time, different research methods and diverse forest ecosystems

Professor Maria Rudawska is an employee of the Institute of Dendrology of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Kórnik (part-time), in the Department of Symbiotic Associations, of which she is the founder and head for many years. Together with his team, she studies communities of ectomycorrhizal fungi in forest ecosystems. Her most important research interests include the ecology and functional diversity of ectomycorrhizal fungi and fungi from other trophic groups, as well as factors shaping fungal communities in managed and protected forests of national parks and reserves.

Prof. dr hab. Maria Rudawska jest pracownikiem Instytutu Dendrologii PAN w Kórniku (1/2 etatu) w Zakładzie Związków Symbiotycznych, którego jest twórcą i wieloletnim kierownikiem. Wraz z zespołem zajmuje się badaniami zbiorowisk grzybów ektomykoryzowych w ekosystemach leśnych. Do jej najważniejszych zainteresowań badawczych należy ekologia i różnorodność funkcjonalna grzybów ektomykoryzowych oraz grzybów z innych grup troficznych, oraz czynniki kształtujące zbiorowiska grzybów w drzewostanach gospodarczych oraz ekosystemach leśnych objętych ochroną w parkach narodowych i rezerwatach.
